The real news: The BCA is investigating whether speakers and organizers made terroristic threats or other crimes at the Jan. 5 âStorm the Capitolâ rally in St. Paul.
The 2+ hours of video and audio captured at the event show how speakers used increasing threatening rhetoric towards Gov. Tim Walz, law enforcement, judges and other public officials. https://www.startribune.com/violent-words-in-st-paul-when-does-free-speech-become-terroristic-threat/600011557
We published more video from the âStorm the Capitolâ rallyâincluding self-identified âfriend of the Proud Boysâ Raul Estrada calling for a âpurgeâ here:
Yesterday I asked organizer Becky Strohmeier if she thought speakers had crossed the line. Hereâs what she said:
Strohmeier helped organize yesterdayâs small but heavily policed rally at the Minnesota State Capitol. Sheâs organizing another small âprayer serviceâ there today. https://www.startribune.com/pro-trump-capitol-rally-in-st-paul-yields-low-turnout-amid-heavy-security/600011500/
The heavy security was a response to national fears such gatherings would be a flash point for armed right-wing insurrectionists and leftist groups like antifa. Yesterday ended without incident but weâll be checking in on things at the Minnesota State Capitol again today.
