At 0001 GMT on 17 Jan 1991 I was the wkpr in 14/20H BGHQ. The Bde Comd net & SCRA(T) were quiet (save for the BID beeps). I was listening to @bbcworldservice on the VRC321. The news came on and I became the first person in the BG to hear that the air campaign had started. 1/
Things slowly livened up. Messages started to trickle through from HQ 4th Armd Bde. NAIADs were deployed and switched on. And the Adjt clearly demonstrated that he had no idea of the difference between a low battery alarm and an attack alarm. Oh how we laughed (in 3R). 2/2
