A Star Studded Free Agent Class: Will Fuller Spotlight
Will Fuller looked to finally coming into his own, before going down for PEDs in Week 13. Fuller has yet to play a full season in his 5 years, but has shown major upside when on the field. Let’s break it down deeper!
Will Fuller has played over 10 games 4 times, but has only played more than 11 in one year. Fuller has struggled in the past to stay on the field, but this year he looked to finally be healthy. He finished with 53 catches, 879 yards and 8 TDs. (video via: @NFLonCBS)
Will Fuller has major upside, anywhere he lands. He’s got super wheels and good hands, but has been riddled with injuries year after year. He’s yet to crack the 1000 yard mark, or 55 catches, but when on the field he’s shown us that he can be a lightning in a bottle.
He came into his own this season, in the 11 games hen played. He thrived in an offense not centered around DeAndre Hopkins, while also having another star WR in Cooks to help relief some pressure. But how hard is it going to be to convince a team to sign Fuller long term?
Green Bay has been the talk of the town, for the most part. It seemed Green Bay was a WR away from being a legit Super Bowl contender. But times have changed, how much cap space is GB going to spend on a WR when there are other positions who need to get paid.
Green Bay is legit without Fuller, and become an odds on favorite if they add him. Green Bay would suit Fuller, a player who can burn you deep or create magic with his legs. Davante Adams will enter a contract year in 2021, so I don’t expect GB to invest much money into WR.
Adams has to be the guy long term. He’s generational. Bringing Fuller in would be beneficial for GB if it were a 1 year deal, but I don’t think GB would invest long term in a WR who isn’t Davante Adams, especially if he hasn’t stayed on the field a majority of his career.
I think the most likely would be Fuller heading to Miami. I think the fit is legit and could add much needed depth to a WR core that lacked stars. I expect Miami to address WR in the draft, so I don’t expect them to pay big money for a Robinson, JuJu, or a Golladay.
Miami to Fuller seems to fit just right. He could get a longer deal in Miami, a team with openings in their cap for the next few years. Fuller isn’t going to get a rich check, but it won’t be cheap either. Miami adding a Fuller alongside a Smith/Chase, could bring this offense up
Will Fuller will get a prove it type deal. He’ll get a 1 year deal whether that be a franchise tag or a deal to prove it somewhere else, or he’ll get a 2 year deal to prove it somewhere else, anything longer than that and I would be shocked. (video via: @NFLonCBS)
Will Fuller will need to stay on the field, at whatever cost necessary. I really like Will Fuller’s talented, but NFL GMs are going to be weary to sign him long term. I have Will Fuller ranked WR32, and could see him finishing anywhere from WR15-WR60.
As always, thoughts and shares are appreciated! Let me know where you think Will Fuller ends up! Curtis Samuel will be the next FA WR in these threads, coming this afternoon!
