First, let’s talk about Itachi’s life story for a bit.He was born in the middle of a brutal war, and as a child he didn’t understand why people fought for power. He grew up in a time where ninjas from Konoha were extremely powerful and feared by other village such as Orochimaru-
, Minato, Jiraya, Hiruzen, Tsunade and others. At 7 years old, he saw the world the same way a Kage would see: a land of opportunities being wasted and chaos alongside fear ruling the world. He always was the best at what he was doing in his time in the academy, being known as-
the prodigy of the Uchiha. He cared about the village a lot, even though the village had a certain dislike for the Uchiha clan. He saw himself between a clan who wanted more power and a village who was scared of its people.
His clan was planning a coup against Konoha, and in result he had two choices in his hand, he lets the coup happen and will be slaughtered together with his clan, including his brother or he saves the village by killing his clan and in exchange Sasuke will be spared.
And he was only 13, a freaking child when it all happened. Do you remember what kind of missions did Naruto and Sasuke get at the same age? I do. I clearly remember ‘’Capture Tora the Lost Pet’’
People need to know that Konoha isn't just a nice place to live there, it's a “military” village. A coup d'etat against Konoha is an act of insubordination. The Uchiha broke the law. Assassinate them was an actual protocol. Had he sided with the Uchiha, a civil war would’ve-
erupted and many more people would’ve died.
Itachi is a victim of selfish, weak or corrupt men who acted in self-interest. He went against that, he did not act in self-interest, he acted in favor of all those who had nothing to do with it but would lose their lives possibly.

He spent the rest of his life with the pain of this alone, while Hiruzen continued to stroll and drink tea in Konoha.
By committing mostly rightful killing, he prevented a massive civil war and death of hundreds of innocent people.
He basically ruined his own life for the village, He was hated by everyone but none of this got in his way. He joined the Akatsuki as a spy for the leaf and stopped-
