The radicalization is not just Fox News / GOP. This is coming from churches, straight from too many pulpits. If you want an understanding of how this happened, much of it comes from #ChristianNationalist ideology. That is what has permeated our country. It’s what feeds the GOP.
It’s easy to focus on the final delivery point that is the most obvious: Trump, Fox News, the GOP

The reality is this has been bubbling below the surface for decades, a “long play”. #ChristianNationalism is the danger, it is the radicalization element that led us here.
Until we come to grips and acknowledge the root of our issues, they will continue to pop up, creating chaos and undermining our foundations. #ChristianNationalism is the root. The other elements are just what you see above the surface, the manifestations.
What makes Christian nationalism so insidious in our country's churches is the fact that 80 to 90 percent of what is preached, even from the extreme churches, are probably things most people would agree are good things for humans to be doing. But then they weave in dog whistles.
People in the pews hear a message from someone they are told to trust unconditionally, their pastor. They hear the Christian nationalist ideology a little at a time, over and over. It is reinforced via networks, social media, and by elevated politicians, but where does it start?
