There's definitely a bias in favor of natural English speakers on youtube, even with folks that speak it perfectly. There's an idea of them being an "outsider"

It's an unconscious bias from viewers, the algorithm and other creators. But it leads people from outside the anglosphere to being a abit on the outside.
And it sucks ass.

Like, the vast majority of video essay youtubers that are successful enough to make a living out of it are native English speakers.
And I could focus on Swedish topics of make stuff in Swedish. But that limits my audience extremely, to the point where it wouldn't work.

I hate being grouped in this nieche of "international youtuber" when that has almost no bearing on my content. I can't help that I'm trans, or Swedish, and yet those are the things that people will forever connect to my channel.

But I've made one video on Sweden, and yet that's on people's mind so often.
I have people asking me for Swedish topic videos, complaining that I ignore a Swedish perspective. And it sucks. I don't want to do those things or even indicated that I'd ever want to.

Wish I could be seen as equal to American or British youtubers, but I'll always come second. I'll always come around when people ask for "international" youtubers, because that's the category.

In the end I just wanna be seen as a good youtuber. Not a Swedish youtuber, or a trans youtuber. Just a good youtuber.
