Here is what I learned from a grassroots effort to vaccinate 450 people in a VFW hall:

Communities are incredibly eager to organize & get the job done and ANY community can organize in this way

Communities want you to give them the ball and they will score 1/🤷‍♂️
You need many more civilian volunteers than medical staff.

It took me <30 seconds to get the alcohol swab out, take the cap off the syringe and inject.

Injecting people is NOT the rate limiting step!

You need about 5 times as many civilians volunteers registering folks
Make registration simple to keep people moving.

People had to sign up on the internet for an appointment in this wave.

In the future for general vaccination I could imagine a system where you logged in to see how long the wait was & come through at a time to fit your schedule.
If you do use an appointment system, make sure you have people on a waiting list to fill in when people miss their appointment.

This is CRITICAL because it assures that you use up ALL the vaccine allotted for the day!

This really worked well yesterday as we had not a drop left
