Short thread:
I've been thinking a lot over the past few hours about the concept of "hate" vs. the concept of "righteous anger." I think too often, especially in fandom, these very different things get conflated.

For me, righteous anger is in response to a sense of an injustice having occurred, usually at the expense of the marginalized.
Hatred is an intense or passionate dislike.
I don't have space in my life for hatred. But for righteous anger? Yes, I do.

Because as we learned over this past summer, silence = complicity, especially when you are part of a majority group (for me, that's my whiteness and my abled body).
That's why I try not to stay silent. I don't hate people. But I do hate injustice.
