For all the talk about how Capaldi is the most underappreciated Doctor (and he is underrated), I think we need to talk about how much Matt Smith's just been kind of forgotten in recent years. I don't really feel like he's got much of a dedicated fandom like Capaldi does (1/)
And he's really been done dirty in merchandising too-since 2018, which was really the last big push for stuff from his era-the Day of the Doctor target book, the Big Finish chronicles box set, his most recent B&M figure set, the last (to date) issues of his comic...(2/)
There was nothing in 2019, just a BBC audio in 2020 and this year another target book and another big finish box set. Admittedly, the Fact of Fiction in Doctor Who Magazine has been covering his episodes quite frequently, especially in the Christmas issues (3/)
But even so, there was only one last year, and a series five episode hasn't been touched in two years. A lot of them, mostly the series six ones, were done in quick succession in 2019, maybe to make up for the lack of other merchandise? It's also odd how few tweetalongs he's had-
At the start, we had four episodes of his not longer after each other, so I thought he might even be overrepresented-but all we've had since then is The Rings of Akhaten in the summer and A Christmas Carol in December. There have even been more episodes from the Ninth Doctor's
single series done than the Eleventh Doctor's entire era. I really hate being negative, especially on a Sunday, but I just noticed it and it's such a shame.

Can we PLEASE get some new Eleventh Doctor content please Mr BBC? xxx

Oh, I did forget that practically his entire era was done on steelbook last year, so that's good at least. But there could still be more. (7/7)
And one last thing, I think there was a lot of re-releases of his books in 2018, which again is good, but on the other hand, he did have significantly fewer books than the Doctors before him (although I realise 12 and 13 have been given a rougher deal)
