2021. Yet the resistance to #OwnVoices remains so horrifically high. Specially the condescending ‘I know about it but....’
I don’t think these people realise how much they reveal themselves and the narrow confines of their ethical considerations, the poverty of their moral universe, their lack of ability to empathise or imagine anything/anyone beyond their limited worldview
They actively CHOOSE to push casually racist, even deeply flawed research from decades ago rather than discover and read #OwnVoices and I really wonder: why are they so afraid? What would reading writers from minoritised communities reveal that they so hold in terror?
And then I remember.

Reading #OwnVoices would not only expose the limitatiins of their morality and imagination. It would also expose their own collusion with ongoung exclusions, oppressions, injustice.
So instead, they tell themselves lies about themselves, choose to actively shut out writers minoritised writers, continue to limit their reading and encourage the same to others. And continue to (help) perpetuate the injustices...
And this active, knowing choosing is when they cross from collusion to perpetration and perpetuation of injustice.

Just know, I see you. And I recognise your immorality, your love for injustice.

And yes I judge you!
