Hi @hayleycampbell, I’ve read your review of @dragraceukbbc Season 2 Episode 1 on the BBC website/ @bbc5live blog and it really doesn’t sit right with me at all... [1/7]

You rudely and disrespectfully accuse @AsttinaMandella and @its_tayce of having a “lack of interest” in black queer history because they both chose to walk the runway as @NaomiCampbell, @hayleycampbell [2/7]
You assume @AsttinaMandella and @its_tayce have no interest in their own history because they didn’t consider black gay icons such as Donna Summer, James Baldwin, Grace Jones or Josephine Baker. None of these icons are British. You did not understand the challenge @hayleycampbell
As a white woman, it is not your place to publicly accuse two black queens of having no interest in black, queer history. Especially when YOU have misunderstood the assignment @hayleycampbell [4/7]
For the LGBTQ community, Drag Race is not just a TV show. Yes, it entertains us, makes us laugh and gives us something to gossip about, but it also educates us, introduces us to new talent within our community and spotlights our stories, struggles and history @hayleycampbell
You’re “bored of Drag Race now”, it’s “predictable & exhausting” and “feels sad & limited”. I’m sorry you feel this way about a significant part of LGBTQ culture, but Drag Race is not for straight people. It’s not made for you @hayleycampbell. [6/7]
So maybe it’s best you stick to reviewing Miranda, Peaky Blinders and Mrs. Brown’s Boys in the future @hayleycampbell [7/7]
