That article in the Telegraph by Robert Jenrick? It’s bait. My advice is: don’t take it. The only reason it currently has traction is because those critical of it are reacting. Triggering reaction is it’s sole purpose. Don’t give them the satisfaction of having succeeded in that.
You know I believe strongly in calling out BS. And sometimes that is absolutely necessary. But reacting to every piece of bait they throw? It gives legitimacy to what they’re trying to do and spreads the crap. They want to fabricate a culture war, that’s been clear for a while.
They have more chance succeeding if we keep reacting to the bait. Call out the worst occasionally if you must. But focus on amplifying the voices and organisations etc who can make a real difference changing attitudes on the ground. Much more effective to do that.
If we continue to react constantly, all it achieves is a perpetual outrage culture where they use our reactions to feed the culture war they so desperately want. That won’t help anyone. /end
PS: *Its sole purpose

I corrected it’s to its five times and still it ended up as it’s 🤯 Seriously, this is insanity-inducing ... don’t have two languages on the phone keyboard. At some point they mix up everything and the keyboard gets a will of its own ...
