I have just bought my first private number plate for the new car.
I believe the age of the car will allow me to fit it.
I’ve never bought a plate before so I’m doing this as a learning exercise and it wasn’t expensive.

So I will try and document the process for others who haven’t done it before.
From what I understand I will acquire a document in a couple of weeks saying that I own the plate and then once my new car is registered to me I can apply to have that plate assigned to the car.

My paperwork regarding my new plate arrived yesterday.
I can use this to get physical plates made when the time comes.
Now all I have to do is get the actual car & get it registered to me then I can begin the swappening.
Still not sure when I’ll be able to get the car itself.

Ok. So I got my new V5 document through today so I guess I can now start the process to change the number plate online.
Well. That was possibly the simplest process ever.
