How do we educate Zimbabweans about consent/sexual violence ?

How do we alter an entire country's culture ?
Sex education should start as early as primary school:
-respecting boundaries
-privacy & consent before touching
-appropriate and inappropriate touch.
-who to turn to if they need to talk
- un/healthy relationships
-consent
& whilst prevention work is great what about offenders ? Perpetrators of sexual violence need to be held accountable.

We need to actively work to change a culture that has, for too long, enabled offenders and silenced survivors.
We must address factors at all levels: individual/community/legislation/ societal etc.

Mobilise men & boys as allies.

We must continue to challenge the notion that sexual violence is a victims fault. Sexual violence is about control & power over another individual.
& we need to rid of this notion that only certain 'types' of women & girls face sexual violence. Any woman/girl can be a victim.
where do victims/survivors go for support?? One thing I find very disappointing & hurtful is the way we continue to shame victims.

Sexual violence has long lasting devastating physical and psychological effects. They alter a person's entire life course
