1) Have given some thoughts on a new party. Using MN DFL as an example, I think each state should have a Patriot Party, and there should be a national party called AMERICA FIRST PARTY.

2) In practice, Michigan Patriot Party fields its statewide candidates and...
3) federally, endorses Reps/senators/POTUS nominee under the banner of America First Party.

4) if you’ve been reading my timeline then you’ll see that I am indeed of the belief that now is the time to actually start a new party. You are welcome to disagree...
But if you do so I expect it to be more sound than “the Dems will win every election if we don’t vote R!”

5) the new party has tremendous demand, first of all. But most importantly, every attempt to remake the GOP, starting as far back as 1994, has resulted in...
RINO infiltration. They are smart enough to sniff out the direction of the wind. In 2010, Joe Walsh came on board. Look at him now. A number of cringe RINO posers rode the Tea Party wave.

Jeff Flake crawled onboard in 2012. Perhaps the worst, Ben Sasse, came on in 2014.
6) GOP voters demanded massive reform with these shakeups, and didn’t stop there, putting an exclamation point on the tea party surge with Trump’s election.

7) To set that in line like a chiropractor - 2010 reform, 2014 reform, 2016 reform, 4 years of sabotage.
8) No one actually likes the GOP. They just get votes because their voters fear or hate the Dems more. The same dynamic occurs with most voters on the other side.

9) the new party must be chartered with its own bylaws and blanks to first and foremost vet all aspiring members...
And candidates so as to prevent infiltration, and then bind any nominees to contracts denying their ability to be nominated if found in violation of party planks.

10) the new party must be capable of fielding an entire slate of candidates. Perot had a real shot in 1992...
Given his massive share of vote (he actually won some counties). I think a legitimate America First Party running in a general tomorrow would get 25%+ of the vote, until the GOP rank and file realize they can abandon ship.
11) I am a realist. The America First party will probably lose for 4-6 years. The initial push of the party getting a record number of third party votes will push the R and D party under one umbrella - a Washington party, which they undeniably are. A swamp party.
12) they will be universally hated as they hold power over the whole country - think “you break it, you buy it.”

13) the new party will break the stranglehold on polarization. Still, many D or R won’t change parties because that’s all their families have ever known for...
160 years or more, or at least 88 since the FDR coalition shift.

The same dynamic that you see when Trumps policies poll 75%+ support but the man at just 50%... will manifest in party membership. But it will take time. The GOP took time to manifest in the 1850s.
But sure enough, they replaced the ineffective Whig Party.

14) will your state turn blue? Yes, probably. But it is going to anyway at this rate.

15) Georgia is exhibit A. Arizona is exhibit B. I know @kelliwardaz - it’s not her fault that the state is infested with RINOs.
16) I live in another RINO state rounding out the pink trifecta - Texas. Ever since the Ds began battleground Texas, the Rs here have dropped their gunslinger attitudes that won 15% victories in favor or Paul Ryan-esque wimpery...
And now guess what - 86 house seats, or something like that... statewide margins under 8 points starting to happen. All because of “prevent defense” - lazy campaign of “don’t let them turn Texas blue!”

Does that sound attractive to a new generation of voters?
So yes, if team Red vs Team Blue that we have had since 2000 continued on throughout this decade, which it won’t, Texas would go blue. Not CA level but probably Florida level - a couple points either way. Arizona is becoming Colorado. Georgia is becoming Virginia.
17) Depending on how much traction this tweet gets, haters will stop by to screech about “we can’t let Dems win” while failing to realize the red and blue game is a key source of our dysfunction. Trust me, Greg Abbott will invite so much big tech here that you’ll be able to see
Austin from space in 2028. Imagine the GOP by the end of 2028 missing AZ GA TX, and no longer able to reach the rust belt thanks to the Nikki Haley consolidation to come. That’s less than 150 electoral votes.

18) you may also say “it doesn’t matter if elections are rigged”...
And you may be right if you’re talking about simply wins and losses. But at the end of it all you’d have probably a party that is 6 to 4 more powerful locally and nationally than the Washington party that could enact its own reforms at the state levels if we focus now.
Focus on full slates of candidates, top to bottom, and calling out truth - that the GOP is filled out by wimps and cowards, and no longer worthy of respect. We can invite Hawley later.

@TesauroJames and I are meeting soon to film and present the America First party to America.
