I know my following here is small, but I'm seeking out some semblance of love and support because I'm going to need it for the next two weeks. (THREAD)
As some of you may know, my wife is a teacher. Due to the union guidelines, I will not be providing further details regarding her employment.
Tonight, she received a phone call that she has been exposed to someone in the school who has tested positive for covid.

This is not the first, nor is it even the second. It is the third.
This is the third time that @AdrianaLaGrange has been okay with risking the lives of others because her and @UCPCaucus have decided that the economy is more important.

This is the third time that I have heard the devastation in her voice because she is so afraid that she has exposed her elderly parents to a virus that has been so wildly unpredictable and devastating to our society, and deadly to their demographic.
My wife is a remarkable human being - she is incredibly intelligent, holding two separate bachelor's degrees and aspirations to pursue a master's.
She is fluent in 4 languages and excels in assisting students who are refugees and is a force to be reckoned with.

The bar is set high for her students, and those who cannot reach it get the chance to see a better side of themselves. They do not get ignored or cast aside for more successful students. All of her students get her love. All of her students matter.
She is the teacher that you see in movies; the one who shows up hours before the first bell, and stays after class to ensure that she has everything ready for her students, or even to coach a basketball team. She is the teacher that impacts student performance in other classes.
This is the teacher that you want your child to have, she is the teacher that all of us deserve to work with because she will see your potential, pull it out of you and hold it in front of you. If you are her student, then you will not forget her.
@jkenney, I ask you, why is it that this teacher, who cares so deeply for the growth of students (and future voters) is so unimportant compared to your wealthiest of friends? Why are you more concerned with profits than with lives? Where is your humanity?
