If you're white and have #BlackLivesMatter in your bio, can you pinpoint an example of you making a positive impact on the life of a Black person in your life? This isn't an ask for a report of what you've done. Just check in with yourself.
Black people are not a concept. We are here occupying the same world that you do. There are Black people that do every activity that white people do. If you care about our lives, have you done anything to indicate that? Do you know who the Black experts are in your field of work?
Do you notice when we're doing well? When we're creating, building, selling, expressing joy and love? Do Black folks come to mind when you're making a recommendation or a referral?

Or do we only matter in our suffering or after needlessly dying?
You're not obligated to do anything but if you are broadcasting that you care about Black people, you might want to have the receipts ready.
