I’m an employer and everyone makes more than $15/hr at my business so the rate hike doesn’t affect my business. However, i think people are free to seek out better paying jobs. They don’t have to take low paying jobs. The real issue is why aren’t they qualified for higher wages?

If you can only get minimum wage in the job market you have to ask yourself, “why?” Is it because capitalists are exploiting you, or is it because what you offer is quite common and therefore not valued? If all I made was $15/hr starting a family wouldn’t cross my mind.

The reality is we will all bend to the world before it bends to us. I’m partners in a stable business; make independent films, I’m involved with business, philanthropy and politics to a lesser degree in Detroit, a city I don’t reside in. Why? Because to have more I must do more.

I’ve avoided the stock market but recently I opened an account to get in. Today, I bought lottery tickets. Why not? My point is I give myself EVERY opportunity to win. If you take “rounds” off in the fight that’s on you but don’t be surprised if you end up losing the fight.
