Julius Erving. 1975-76 season. 27 straight 20-point games to open the season.
But I guess y'all forgot about the ABA. https://twitter.com/ESPNNBA/status/1350607705552134144

My correction to 20k followers will surely make a dent to their incorrect stat going out to nearly 7m followers.
Rick Barry did this 3x.
Streak of 12 in 1970-71 season.
Streaks of 9 and 11 in 1971-72 season.
Julius Erving did it 5x.
Streak of 13 in 1973-74.
Streaks of 10, 13, 11, and 9 in 1975-76.
But I guess y'all also forgot about the ABA. https://twitter.com/BrooklynNets/status/1350602681774202882

Julius Erving's numbered is retired by the @BrooklynNets and their only two title banners are because of him.
You'd think they would remember their franchise history even if ESPN doesn't. Alas.

People make mistakes (like my typo in the previous tweet!), but doing "franchise history" stats that ignore the ABA when about 20% of that franchise's history was in the freaking ABA is pretty egregious.
It's even more egregious when approximately 50% of the franchise's successful history was in the ABA.
Nets really did a doozy on that one.
