Shaking my head at tonight's Bad Take- a tenured prof making 183k doesn't want to pay undergrads a $15 minimum wage. Quietly seething, thinking about how I worked min wage all 4 years of college, and 5 jobs one semester so I could study abroad. They know where to stick that take.
And hey, I also worked through the summers on campus so my mom didn't have to pay for housing or feeding me at home. But you know, I'm sure undergrads don't have any need to be paid proper wages for their labor! 🙄
I also wonder what the assumption is here. Is it ignorance about students' lives? Just not valuing their labor? You have no IDEA what students go through. I was supporting family in college & all the way through the first years of my PhD. And I was STILL incredibly privileged.
