So the end of Balikbayan is nigh. (Our campaign is coming to an end. I'm just being dramatic for fun.) Before we go out, I wanted to do a quick lil recap. 1/?
First being - what is Balikbayan? It's a dice-less table top role playing game that uses Filipino lore ... in a cyberpunk future. It requires absolutely no background mythology, math, or anything else that would trip you up. 10/10 would play again! 2/?
You play as elementals that have been enslaved by the Corps - but you've just broken free, and now you've come back to a city on Earth where nothing green lives - just metal and plastic, and probably great Asian snacks. 3/?
This is our first episode where our valiant heroes/absolute improv weirdos come back to realize wow everything is terrifying and awful. 4/?

In our second episode, we're trying to figure out what to do - we head to my character's home which can only be described as a versailles that my character stole from a bunch of orphans. 5/?

In ep 3, we start putting together the puzzle pieces, and head to the club (where we're just getting information). And this is where Harrison/Ambo realizes the fratricide is cool. (If it helps, his bro is v evil.) 6/?

Ep 4: in which our heroes find an obelisk. Pretty sure we're also fighting some mega mecha animals, and take down said obelisk. Our GM @MahRudeBoi also said "throbbing obelisk" once, and we've never let him forget it. 7/?

Ep 5: We end up in the lower sewers, and honestly there's real horror vibes all throughout. I think this is my favorite episode. Pretty sure we make Ambo cry. It's sick. 8/?

Ep 6: The Corps finds out where we are. They break into my house?! Everyone fights. Maybe we run into some old friends. 9/?

Ep 7: We break into the Corps, and some gods are killed, and a game of Death Basketball begins. Honestly, impressed 6 comedy dorks knew enough about basketball for this to happen. 10/?
