As a Hollywood richie I don’t actually know at what point a return to social democracy/appropriately redistributive tax levels would start seriously cutting into my comfort+privilege but we’re so fucking far from that point I’ll always stump for the borderline commie maximum

who knows, if our country ever hits a point even approximating a decent distribution of wealth + resources and I start feeling the pinch maybe I’ll flip & start whining about “now this is too far!” to protect my self-interest, but even hitting that point would be a happy day

besides, for that to even occur the interests of the actual majority would have to be realized in sufficient political and institutional power that it’ll be *very* easy to ignore the pampered, haute bourgeois bleating of me and ppl like me

and imo holding this position should be the least we ask of any wealthy person who chooses to maintain any kind of public existence in this country
