Seattle voted in the $15 minimum wage and none of the fear-mongering came true. Restaurants didn’t close. Fast food stayed cheap. Socialists didn’t invade. Economy is fine. Ultra-wealthy business owners were forced to stop using food stamp subsidies as a business model, though.
Washington State already had one of the highest minimum wage laws in the nation.

Georgia’s minimum wage is
$5.15 (subject to the $7.25 Federal minimum).
Nineteen states likewise have minimum wages of $7.25 or less.

There are ways to mitigate minimum wage laws.
1) Phase-in (3 years gradual rise)
2) Some exemption for high school students (who already have strict protections in place)
3) Economic growth
There’s a lot of research and cities/states that have gone this route provide data.

There is some impact. But overall it’s pretty clear wages went up without Karl Marx arriving on a red unicorn to destroy raw oyster bars.
