okay too much negativity (from myself included!!) a necessary thread on why Netflix hasn’t renewed Julie and the Phantoms yet and why we should remain hopeful (ft. Kenny and the cast’s comments)
1) Why hasn’t it been renewed yet??
COVID means production would take longer because of the amount of people allowed on set at a time. This means it would also cost more money. Netflix has to decide if they will still profit despite a higher price tag.

As far as we know, Netflix bases renewals on cost to viewer income. They may be more wary to renew the show if it would cost more because of COVID.
There’s also the fact that that the cast is very spread out, and there is a risk of having them all travel to Vancouver to film. Netflix may wait until they are sure that COVID does not present a risk (ie the vaccine is more widespread)
2) Why should we remain hopeful??
Netflix continues to post Julie and the Phantoms on their social media’s. They would not do this if it were to be cancelled.

The cast and Kenny have said some things that lead the phandom to believe we’re getting a season 2
