Obviously not an easy thing to do, bc screen time has become the way children access important things like school and socialization. It will be hard! But here are some suggestions, and I'm sure you will think of others
Start w/ things like cutting off access to screens at bedtime. Or consider swapping out an hour a day of online gaming or TikTok and offer solid alternatives - like 1)really engaging books (not time to get them started on War & Peace!), 2)board games w/ siblings if available...
3)Creating art, 4)building something cool w/ Legos or other supplies around the house, 5)encouraging them to pick something they've played or watched and create something tangible on their own (e.g. build a roblox city from cardboard), etc
Different offline activities will work for different children, obviously, depending on their disposition. Ask your child for ideas about what they'd like to do, and take their lead
Anyway, just my 2 cents! Try different things until you find something that can stick - and of course, tap the wisdom of the village! See how other parents might be thinking about this & take any concerns to your child's pediatrician - you don't have to figure this out alone!
