To be a parent is such a painful thing.

To go through immense physical and psychological changes during pregnancy, stay up many nights, worry about your unborn child.

To go through the miraculous but most painful birthing process.
To learn from scratch - feeding, changing, bathing, swaddling, burping a baby, and making so many mistakes.

To see the baby cry and feel helpless sometimes, wondering if its just hunger or something worse.

To hear your baby's screams during vaccination, or when she gets hurt.
To see her clinging to you, pleading to not leave her at school on her first day.

To see her coming to terms with failure, disappointment, heartbreak.

To see her cope with the loss of a family member or pet.

To see her go through struggles in life, making her mistakes.
To know that she will face adversity, judgement, discrimination in the real world.

To feel that there's nothing you won't do for her but knowing you cant do everything for her forever.

To see her leave you and live a life of her own.

To know you won't be around her always.
Yes, being a parent is a very painful thing.
