This is a chilling interview. I'm struggling for words... https://twitter.com/plmanseau/status/1350420953730310147
Don't worry. I'll find them.
Okay, like I've said before, you've got to get past the surface & presenting issues. You've got to get to the assumptions & values underneath.
And one of big things that stands out to me is the sheer sense of entitlement & centering of self. Using pronouns like "we" & "our" when he means "me" & "mine."
For example, he claims "The Capitol is our house. We pay for it" but this is entirely solipsistic. It dismisses every other citizen w/ whom he shares the Capitol.

B/c *I* am as much citizen & the violence of Jan 6 was a violation of the social contract we share.
The Constitution is not a contract btwn you & the govt, Leo, one you can abandon when you believe it has been broken. It is a contract btwn *citizens* to behave in certain ways toward each other. It is a set of mutual vows we agree to live by as we form a common society.
To take law into your own hands--worse still, to do so in the name of Jesus Christ--is not patriotism. It is faithlessness. It is breaking trust w/ your neighbors. It violates them as much as the govt you claim to be challenging.
Also do not miss the ease with which this man invokes the name of Jesus for political purposes. Do not miss how he appeals to respect & manners & minimizes the reality of what happened. Do not miss how he positions himself as victim: "What else were we supposed to do?"
Here's what you were supposed to do, Leo:

Abide by the social contract. Honor your neighbors. And if you're going to break trust w/ them, keep the name of Jesus out of your mouth when you do.
It's a pretty low bar, tbh.
