So isn’t QAnon simply a cult in 21st century form? We used to have people in a compound but now the internet is the compound. Recruiting is easier and people don’t leave families and shave their heads to join. Am I wrong here?

The more I think about this today a reason QAnon has gone mainstream on social media is it has found a place in influencers who then reach into mid-level marketing people who happen to be often church members and can be heavily influenced.

They see the glossy and shiny things of the influencers, fall into the easily joined world against child trafficking and once hooked begin following like they do at church. It begins to blend or take the place of their religion and here we are

This is not every Q follower but I have witnessed many here in Montana and I wonder “how did you get into that world”. Couple it with the influence of doom and gloom misinformational media online on Facebook and Instagram and it came to life

So now you have people in pews with two belief systems at play and depending on if the church leadership is engaged with it as well and speaking from the pulpit about the fear factor you find radicalization in our midst

The question I have is how to go about fighting that tide. Both the Christian Nationalism but also Q which are not all in the same yet the same people are contributing to each other for a longer term noxious mix

I am not saying Q is all church based but I fell those behind it know the instabilities of those who fall prey (similar to a cult) and it is a rich place to grow radicals. In households one spouse goes Q while the other is deep in conservative media and join forces

I don’t want the ways of Jesus demised or tainted by the recent ways of this movement but the Church itself must rid itself of this cancer. It is not the job of media. It is not the job of politicians in this case. Accountability must come from within given decentralized nature
