On my walk this afternoon a woman with her young daughter were waiting to cross the road into the woods. Her little girl was was around 5-6 years old and was wearing a fabulous pair of pink unicorn ear warmers.
Her mum turned around and saw I was standing a good distance behind her and her girl. She Immediately made more space and apologised saying she hadn’t see me and so had spread herself out.
I was masked up so all she could really see was my eyes but she spoke with such kindness and concern for me, a total stranger to her, that it made my day. We had a little natter about what we are living through and agreed that mostly, women are very capable of creating space
for each other and everyone else. Then we laughed. The woman and her daughter waved to me and I waved back and we went on our way. This is the only way we are going to get through this devastating time - by being kind to each other and by looking out for each other.
