Nigeria is an extreme economic experiment with extreme actors. Even our politics is not rooted in any ideology but based on crude demand and supply resource dynamics. There is no philosophizing by people who are not even Machiavelian and similar to cavemen in action.
It is all zero-sum. This is why eliminating people by assassination is a common option. Why politicians can shoot people dead in broad daylight and evening then remain in office without consequence. Nigeria is not a real place. Real places have real consequences.
Nigeria is a place where there are only one set of dominant economic actors who are predators while others are prey. Every action you do to improve your circumstance is similar to the deer and zebra fattening themselves for the lion or cheetah to eat. There is no negotiation.
Nigeria is similar to the wild as we are still dependent on very basic resources rather than the next level. It is why trade is the dominant economic activity. Trade is based on scarcity and arbitrage, not abundance. Only signal for wealth in the Nigerian economy is deprivation.
How many rich people have we got who got there by building up with the help of their communities? Very few. It is why the wealthy isolate themselves from the rest of the community. They hide themselves from inevitable consequence.
If there is no grass in the Savannah, the Zebra eat the lion. The deer will hunt the cheetah and all will perish.

Nigeria is close to that extinction zone as resources are being depleted without replacement. Climate change and the effects are real. Oil is becoming irrelevant.
Please don't use Nigeria as a model when discussing economics or politics. It is not a real place. It is a movie script.
