I'm going out on a limb here but I think @rontkim's support for @AndrewYang is the shrewdest political decision this cycle. We dunk on Yang, but this signals to me that Andrew Yang has a really good chance of winning. Reason for the latter is very basic:

His campaign's FUN🧢
Right now, there's a realignment happening in the progressive space: there is now a "Progressive Establishment" and Ron's breaking from his peers shows the power of endorsement. Yang pushing for Decrim is a fucking huge deal & I think Ron knows this, and he'll influence him more.
Also, Andy's easily gearing to be the populist candidate in the race, and you can see it right away. There are mantra/themes on how he presents and organize. It's something that New Yorkers are craving for right now: joy and being connected. In that, his corniness resonates.
If anything, let this be a warning shot to the current slate of candidates: (1) progressive signaling is getting stale. (2) if your campaign doesn't have an organizing plan to make people "feel" connected, you will have a harder time winning. There will be a Yang-movement in NYC.
Disclaimer that I'm NOT a Yang supporter. I'm not supporting any candidate in the Mayoral race yet.

But if @AndrewYang plays his cards right, if he comes out strongly for Taxing the Rich and fiercely against the CPC, ULURP. He just might be the Progressive Populist and win.
