Aside from the tons of e commerce influencer fraud accounts that been data mining and exploiting Natives for years, they also were censoring Dakota artist David Bernie.

I even compiled a list of these accounts since Instagram has a way of just changing api and other things that allows them to create accounts by the thousands with influencer software. Ppl never believe natives cuz the expert revisionism of digital footprints.
Here i included an ig account where these fraud accounts can be reported. Showing that im not the only person that has had these concerns and Natives are basically working as administrators for free while Instagram allows frauds to thrive.
I also included a screen cap regarding plagiarism of my info graphic by a similar account thats infamous here on Twitter for being a fraud yet has more followers than authentic Natives and has blocked a majority of "Native twitter" (americanindian8)
Here i expand on the intersection if ig and twitter where accounts with foreign ips stole designs from Natige designers and benefitted off the movement of Standing Rock. The buzz feeds article elaborates on how these accounts manipulated political views posing as Ntvs.
During a time where ppl are questioning the radicalization of extremist that attacked the capital recognizing how platforms like Instagram have been complicit in allowing Naive exploitation is monumental to stop it from continuing.
Esp when u have situations like the Native man being identified as one of the mob members at the capital. Too often internalized colonialism and panindianism opens the door to white washing Ntvness to generate empathy for white supremacist.
Like Edward Curtis enthuisiast these types of pro colonialism Ntvs are so separated from Ndnness that they supplant Native online communities by putting on performances based around the data they have mined over the years. This most certainly shapes the yt gaze of social media.
And perpetuating rape culture, they do this without consent. Ppl find photos of their relatives. Art work, ceremonies which they never consented to being reposted. These accounts respond to being mass reported by just generating new accounts, finding new ways to fake engagement
I've honestly questioned why no Native journalist or NN ally has written about this phenomenon (besides buzzfeed who connected the phenomena strictly to elections and standing rock) when its been going on a long time.
Plenty of Native celebrities and influencers have had to make call outs to their audience to get content removed. While this temporarily brings relief, it starts right back up when these users just use influencer software and regenerate thousands of new accounts.
Again this is something that is structural. And despite the fact users like me and others have been documenting, it continues and Instagram makes no genuine effort to be inclusive of Native and Indigenous ppls who aren't benefitting from influencer capitalism and colonialism.
