Last spring, I looked for high-quality anti-lockdown accounts to follow. The pp I found fall mostly into these categories:

1. Mathematicians & statisticians
2. Futurists, specialists in AI
3. Academics/writers who research mass hysteria
4. Doctors who aren't epi/ID
Sure, there's the random chef, stay-at-home mom, artist. (I avoided the MAGA don't-tread-on-me crowd)

But I find it interesting that the people who have made their careers studying facts & stats, breakthrough tech and general health are aggressively represented.
I happen to be married to someone from category 1. Since March, he's been adding up numbers, comparing stats, recalculating everything he sees on CNN. He cannot help himself.

Since March I've been hearing him say the same thing: This makes no sense. The numbers don't add up.
Every time I start to doubt myself I log on and see a post from someone who has spent their professional life making rational judgments based on objective data.

They all say this is a bubble, a mass delusion. The disease is real but the narrative is not.
