Remember the girl who relentlessly texted her boyfriend to encourage his suicide? When he got scared she egged him on - told him to “get back in the truck.”

If you thought she shared responsibility for his death, how is Trump’s repeated encouragement of violence different? 1/
Hear me out. This girl was motivated by the attention she assumed she’d get as the grieving girlfriend. She was willing to allow another’s death, knowing she could have stopped it, to achieve a boost to her ego. And Trump? 2/
He and his co-conspirators (his kids, Cruz, Hawley, Et al.) relentlessly repeated a call to “fight,” to stop a steal that never occurred, to “take back our country.” Trump called for them to show strength and directly requested that they join him in a march upon the Capitol. 3/
As the violent mob was attacking the seat of Congress, threatening death upon his own Vice President, the President - knowing his followers were taking his every word as instruction - tweeted this: 4/
"..Pence didn't have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!" 5/
In the very moment of violence he knew was underway, Donald Trump had a choice. He could’ve told his followers to stop. Maybe some would have, maybe it was too late. Either way, having led them to the treasonous precipice, he very clearly told them to “Get back in the truck.” 6/

A 74 yr old President of the United States manipulated a vast segment of the citizenry, based on a terrible lie, to believe their only recourse was violence. In the moment he could’ve stopped the tragedy, he did just the opposite. He should the bear consequences of his choice. 8.
