You would think that these states, being populated with and run by liberals that have touted the need for masks, lock downs and a vaccine would have been eager to get the vaccine to their citizens as quickly as possible. 2/
And perhaps they are eager but they are hamstrung by their love of gigantic bureaucracy and adherence to the twisted idea of "health equity".

(medical providers, the elderly or those with existing medical conditions) but based on what minority group has been most impacted by COVID.
What's worse is regulations have been written so that deviation from this plan is a punishable offense. 4/

In California hospitals and clinics are not allowed to administer left over doses to people who do not fall into one of the approved groups. If after vaccinating the approved people available any extra open doses must be thrown away. 5/
The state of California has literally told hospitals and clinics that it is better to throw good doses away instead of vaccinating a 50 year old white man. 6/
Oregon put together a board to design their vaccination plan. That board didn't even meet until the 1st week of January 2021 and spent the 1st hour and a half of the meeting with introductions where each person shared their "personal word of the day". 7/
For the record, sharing your personal word of the day is a tactic used by 1st grade teachers to help their students learn to be comfortable sharing in a group setting. 8/
Oregon's governor has at least realized that her state has dropped the ball and is calling for the health department to just start administering the vaccine. 9/
One of the greatest threats to the future of this nation is the misguided belief that all things revolve around race, ethnicity, gender, etc. Legislating to the color of people's skin will always fail and always leave everyone in a worse place.
