Well done to all the #xponorth pitchers! I'm not on a commissioning team anymore but I'd like to offer some encouragement about what happens now.
1. Agents & editors will continue to look through the pitches over the weekend. I know I did when I was on a commissioning team.
1. Agents & editors will continue to look through the pitches over the weekend. I know I did when I was on a commissioning team.
2. They might've popped in and out liking things, asking questions yesterday, but mind, Friday is still a working day so they will have also been getting on with their day to day. The weekends are perfect for catching up.
3. Then there's time to make a list of all you liked, interacted with and assess again why you liked, interacted with, along with keeping in mind what you know about your publishing lists for the next wee while as they currently stand, and which pitches feel more of a priority.
4. So you may not get your follow up twitter communication this weekend. It might come days from now. Tweet pitch isn't just about the day itself.
5. And sometimes you might not hear something about your pitch, but an agent or a publisher may have now just become aware of your name and they'll think 'not now, but I'm going to keep an eye on them'.
6. So if you haven't heard anything yet or this time around, don't be discouraged. Keep going, keep working. The work is the thing.
I hope this helps.
