Since EVERYONE of my 190 followers has been asking for it. Here’s my take:
I find it funny how many people are calling for Fields or Wilson at 2– it’s like you think they’ll step in and be better than Sam right away. They won’t. It’ll be a bumpy ride as they develop in the NFL.

Justin Herbert is an anomaly; and I think better than both Fields and Wilson from the jump.
Sam is not a financial liability next season. I predict we don’t exercise his 5th year option ($25mm) and if he plays surprisingly well under real tutelage they will tag him.

If he doesn’t, we will have (hopefully) used this draft to put more pillars in place. So we can get to the point where if we plugged in a legit QB in 2022, we will be a contender.
Hard truth is next year isn’t the year. But 2022, with 2 first round picks again, can be the year we can slide it all into place. Their hand just isn’t forced right now to reach for a QB.
Think of Darnold as a college prospect (third year senior) but who has played in the pace and spotlight of the NFL. I’d rather coach that guy up than start alllllll over. Cause the paths will look similar. He’s 23! Lotta meat left on that bone!
Sam makes some mistakes but don’t look at those in a vacuum. When you game plan correctly and scheme correctly, you build momentum and faith in games/system. When you have good coaching, you don’t need to force anything. And for the first time in a long time, I think we found it.
