I think Chansiri is correct when he wants to go down the route of having the club analyse players and getting a coach to fit in with the system in place, rather than an old fashioned manager who oversees everything. It worked at Leicester and Southampton and would work here.
The problem is, the club doesn't have such a system in place. We have no recognised playing style and a squad that doesn't fit any obvious formation. We have an awful record of recruitment since 2015. Therefore the fans don't trust the club to assemble a successful squad.
Some managers are excellent coaches but not great at recruitment. Look how well Wilder has done since he started. A superb and genuinely revolutionary coach. Look how badly he has wasted the money he earned the club when he tried to buy Premier League players.
If the club got the recruitment right off the field, appointing a coach to organise them wouldn't be a difficult task. Until it does, the managers job will be an impossible role and we will be looking for a new one every 6 months and never getting it right.
