#CapitolSiegeReligion on the Senate floor:
"One guy up there said we should pray and some of us did. He was on his bullhorn microphone thing and he just consecrated it to Jesus... That to me was the ultimate statement of where we are in this movement."

"Maybe I did something wrong, but I'm redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ." That's some get-out-of-jail-free card you've got there, buddy.
A moment of sympathy: These people have been completely lied to by the President of the United States and the media environment that fully surrounds them. "What else are we supposed to do?" he asks. Their ability to discern reality from fantasy has been permanently impaired.
Religious media will inevitably attempt to erase its culpability with suggestions along the lines of “It was a sad time of political violence on all sides” — as if lying to millions about the apocalyptic stakes of a rigged and stolen election would not bring this exact result.
There are prominent Christians who will become as notorious as Father Coughlin for their role in this. Just as Coughlin's Wikipedia page has a section on Anti-Semitism, theirs will for Election Lies & Conspiracy Theories. They are as responsible as those who broke down the doors.
