/ The DR/AR has a tendency to venerate establishment based celebrity. If a celebrity, like Trump, Mel Gibson or Gary Oldman, says something sort of "based" it's a cause of reporting, veneration and jubilation for the DR/AR. The mentality sort of makes sense as such a celebrity
/has the power to reach tens or hundreds of millions almost immediately and perhaps, in some cases, billions. Likewise the "credibility" of such a celebrity is much greater with mainstream audiences than some relatively obscure DR/AR figure. On the other hand, it is consistent
/with an "observer's mentality" in the the DR/AR where we are not making headlines but simply reporting on them from a perspective we are already well familiar with and which almost everyone can anticipate, nearly word for word, as it emerges. Likewise, at the same time, the
/DR/AR shows massive resistance to amplifying useful voices within the DR/AR itself. This despite the fact that everyone essentially knows who everyone is. The mentality in the AR/DR is petty, like a small village, where people refuse to follow, share, RT etc when good or useful
/things emerge because "he or she has 'moral failings,' has not shown me, in particular, the proper respect or deference I deserve, is no more wiser or better than me." Maybe "the crab in the bucket" metaphor used by black activists applies. That is: people in the DR/AR are
/ like the proverbial crabs in the bucket, when one is about to crawl out, the one beneath him, in an effort to crawl out himself, drags the first crab back in. Unquestionably there are mentally unwell people in the DR/AR, with nothing new to say, who behave in vindictive and
/destructive ways with a goal simply of drawing attention to themselves and this really is their only contribution (or lack thereof). And perhaps part of the problem here is the simple inability of some large percentage of the DR/AR to distinguish the useful person from this,
/unfortunately, somewhat common narcissist/bastard (who likely genuinely believes his own voice incredibly valuable). And small mindedness breeds small mindedness, "if this person is petty to me, why should I be magnanimous toward them?" Regardless, it is this inability to
/foster "homegrown" talent that leaves the DR/AR where it is, always on the outside looking in, watching rather than participating, left at the mercy of people who aren't us on the baseless hope they secretly are. This, even more than deplatforming, media demonization and
/ censorship, has been the real difficulty with the DR/AR. Fortunately, as the AR/DR gradually gets smarter again (MAGA made us dumb), we sense this gradually changing. In truth, MAGA, even though the DR/AR played a key role in its ascendency, utterly devastated the uniqueness
/of the AR/DR and its power to change the world. This should be a moment of healing, creativity and reforming for us. It will be.
