Kinloch Castle was, of course, built by a wealthy landowner who had inherited the island. It’s construction occupies a tricky part of the region’s history.

Having accommodation within the Castle once again would allow a boost to tourist numbers which fell as a result of the hostel’s closure in 2013.

In a Heritage sense, Kinloch Castle is one of the best examples of untouched Edwardian interiors and this is why we think it’s important to maintain it.
By restoring the front of house rooms, the Castle will be able to operate visitor tours for years to come.

In addition, restoring the front of house rooms will provide the possibility to use the Castle for events - providing a further economic boost the island.
The Castle has been open to the public since it was purchased by the Nature Conservancy Council.
