I worked on an earlier version with Hanna Frings ( @RWI_Leibniz) and Philipp vom Berge ( @iab_news) of a paper looking at an industry-specific min wage in Germany. Region-specific bite intensity goes from Q1 to Q4 here, where Q4 is the highest (largest share of workers below MW). The MW was introduced in 1997. Naturally, it pulls up wages in East Germany, where the bite is the highest (see above), but this causes employment to decline.
