Haven't been able to sleep, so I went back and rewatched the game.

In this here thread, you'll find some plays that really stood out to me, that I think are deserving of more love. #GoSensGo
Right on the opening shift, Sens are hemmed in their zone. Brady Tkachuk makes a big hit, and allows Josh Norris to pick up the puck, clear, and get a change.

He's such a difference-maker.

On Tim Stützle's first NHL shift, we see how poised he is. He takes the feed from Derek Stepan, and even though he's under immediate pressure, he doesn't panic, and gets the puck right back to Stepan to start the rush.

#GoSensGo
Tkachuk narrowly avoided a major injury here. Not only did his knee almost get caught under Hyman, but he flew into the boards like a rocket. Lucky he didn't break his collarbone, or tear up his shoulder.

I really liked Josh Brown's game last night. He came as advertised; not flashy, but steady in his own end, and brings a punishing element of physicality. He crushed Wayne Simmonds behind the net here.

This sequence by Matt Murray was great stuff. Tracks the puck through a mad scramble, gets right back across the crease, and into position for the high-danger chance.

Murray's athleticism is one of his best traits.

Back to Tim Stützle, if you thought he was purely a skill player, you thought wrong. He is relentless on the puck, and plays with as a high a motor as Tkachuk. Does a great job finishing two offensive zone checks, and nearly forces a turnover.

#GoSensGo
Ray Ferraro pointed this out on the broadcast, but Thomas Chabot gets into perfect position for the goal. He comes down through the middle of the slot, and rolls back out wide, opening himself up for Drake Batherson's pass.

Great patience, and timing by both.

Nick Paul was playing like a man possessed, last night. Showing some serious signs of offseason growth, as he hits what should be his prime years.

#GoSensGo
Tim Stützle had William Nylander fishing on this play. Stayed with the puck, and set up a scoring chance on the Gudbranson point shot.

#GoSensGo
In keeping with the theme of Brady Tkachuk being a difference-maker, he absolutely unloads on John Tavares as he comes around the net.

Doubt he'll be making many friends in the North Division this year.

#GoSensGo
Um, yeah. Nick Paul definitely got faster. This also should have been a penalty.

#GoSensGo
Was definitely in the Sens' gameplan to take those quick shots from the half boards. They did it a few times. Batherson waits to the last second to leave the puck for Zaitsev, and disguises the shot.

Oh, and the mid-air, backhand deflection by Brady was alright, too.

#GoSensGo
Once he got his legs under him, I liked Nikita Zaitsev's game. When he plays a simple style, he can be an effective defensive-minded blueliner. Takes away a scoring chance here by timing his dive well, and doing it at the proper angle.

#GoSensGo
Nick Paul doing Nick Paul things, but this Braydon Coburn pass was sick. So out of nowhere, but so awesome.

#GoSensGo
A big reason why the Sens won this game was their dominance of the netfront. They were standing in front of Anderson unchallenged, all night.

Chris Tierney's goal was evidence of that. Count the black sweaters.

#GoSensGo
Derek Stepan was quietly among Tkachuk and Batherson as one of Ottawa's three best forwards in this game. He did it all on his goal, forcing the turnover on the forecheck, and staying with the Batherson rebound (goal is cut off, sue me).

#GoSensGo
This was fun. We'll do more of it as the season goes on.
