Shit I don’t like about Tom Hanks’ news movie #NewsOfTheWorld about a Kiowa captive girl he found and saved:

Get the land right! You wouldn’t fill a story about ocean ppl in the desert so quit filming Kiowas in the desert. We’re plains people.
Little captive girl didn’t represent Kiowa well. She was rude and went thru his things. Kiowas don’t touch personal belongings, it’s a superstition. She couldn’t get dressed right. Her buckskin dress had no decorative Kiowa elements like elk teeth (contd)
Kiowa captive girl sang a baby lullaby to Tom Hanks - why??? He ain’t a baby ... they get caught in a dust storm, we don’t have dust storms

Kudos for Tom Hanks and the actress for attempting to speak Kiowa but they butchered most of it and it was hard to understand... he did say “water” right! Lol
The Kiowa captive ate with her hands and acted animalistic. I don’t like it. Grrrr... also they said she don’t know what an uncle or auntie is, KIOWAS HAVE UNCLES AND AUNTIES.
Overall, #NewOfTheWorld is another white savior movie. Don’t take my word for it though, go check it out. Or not. Ugh. I only did cuz my Dad wanted to watch it. Then we made fun of the whole thing 
WORST YET: They said that the Kiowas bashed in her baby sister’s head.

She didn’t have a knife or weapon when he found her. BS... everyone knows Kiowa women always have a shank

But it was okay. Lol. It was a heartfelt story and I like that Tom Hanks was empowering people thru literacy. I just with they didn’t write the same tired tales of indigenous people being barbaric.
