There is some dropoff, and it's even more visible when watching him play. But nowhere near what's what people seem to think it is.

A good player in a bad place

Pretty good for Denmark too. Look I'm not saying we should definitely go after him, but he's still good and if we can work out a loan with an option to buy, it could be smart. He has the technique & vision to play deeper well into his 30s

The effect of coming back(positive or negative) on him & the squad is a whole other question and one that's very difficult to guess. But as a player, there still is a decent one there at least much better than Lucas, Lamela, Sissoko etc.

Even as a player for certain situations

He can earn us a lot of points be it adding control in midfield, or creativity in the final 3rd
