“text-historical” method = This is pillar of Padre-Indology framework. Assumption here is that "Text" as it exists today is the only proof of what it was originally. This resulted the development of pseudo-scientific discipline called "Linguistics".

Text in its present form = Signal (original text)+Noise (distortion created by priestly class over time.)

The job of Padre-Indologist is to estimate (reconstruct) the original text using his methods and techniques which he claims to be "scientific" but actually they are not. In fact they are nothing but secularized versions of Protestant arguments against Roman Catholics.

All brown Indian scholars be it from Left, Right or Center operate in abv mentioned framework when it comes to studying ancient Indian texts. This is because it's the only framework acceptable in Indian academia which is not surprising given its colonial origins.

Take for example this description of Balarama in MBH where text describes Balarama’s arrival on the 18thday of the war to witness the dual between Bhima and Duryodhana and how he was seated amidst the kings like the full moon in the firmament surrounded by stars.

But in Padre-Indologist framework abv is an useful information can't be discarded.

You may laugh at the abv stupidity (from a regular Hindus perspective) of Oak confusing an analogy of full moon among Nakshtras with Balarama seated among kings but it's no laughing matter per rules of Padre-Indology framework.

So as Prof SN Balgangadhara stated 20 years back, Padre-Indology framework renders you alien to your own Scriptures and ancient text by claiming that you, the owner, don't know how to read and make sense of it.

One of the most prominent center of studying and making sense of ancient Hindu texts run by brown guys (Sekoolar-Savarna equivalent in intellectual realm) with in this Padre-Indologist framework is Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute of Pune.

It has produced many "gems" with an outlook at ancient Hindu texts which is a strange mix (mindset and thinking wise) of Sankhya's "Nirishwarvaad" and so called "Scientific" attitude of 19th century Padre Indologists of Germany1+
