1. I send all my resume even to small O&G company, denied because overqualified.
2. Big O&G company denied my resume due to not certified uni( I’m a Japanese grad)

Send another resume to ViTrox, as i decide not to get stuck in Sarawak. Got the interview. Interviewer mention same thing, overqualified. They may not able to meet my expectation.
I decide to change my strategy. I send my resume to all IT company, SMEs in Kuching area. Give each one a call. One company accept to meet me in person. I tell my offer to them, I will work for them but they don’t need to pay me anything. Just to teach me how to do it.
This is literally an internship. But without any allowance. In a course of 3 month i learn, how to code. I can build my own site.
Got reply from SAINS, IT company in Sarawak, maybe the biggest. Related to Swak Gov. Got the job because my knowledge on coding - received from working free.
So many scandal around SAINS, people is great but work is not. Salary is typical fresh grad income. Decide to quit without having any interview in line.
Start all over. This time, I received a phone call from uni friends. He got an interview in a marine company. Ask me to try it out. Send my resume, and i received a phone call. The company is in Singapore.
This company have the craziest interview that I ever attend! The GM explain what they do, how hard the job is, how he understand fresh grad with no experience. Everything he said is oppose to what company do during interview.
The interview ends with, do you want to do it?

Here I am now. No flexing. Just to tell my kohai. Don’t limit yourself to Sarawak only. If Sarawak cannot provide, you must provide instead. If no, go find elsewhere.
