what is a book you understand and know a lot about but still dislike? (you know, maybe like a classic you studied in school and still don't like)
which book is objectively bad but you adore it anyways?
which book would you bring to a deserted island?
if you had to choose between reading standalones and series till the rest of your life, which would you choose?
which book is your universal recommendation? like you just think you can recommend it to any reader, regardless of their preferred genre
which book do you HATE yet UNDERSTAND why other people LOVE?
if you had to choose only one genre of books to read for a year, which would it be?
this book is absolutely horrible but you're aware it has irreversibly impacted popular culture. which book am i talking about?
you have power to erase any author and their work (doesn't matter it they're dead or alive) - who are you choosing?
do you think (the right) books make us better people?
which books are going to be considered classics in the future? which ones would you add to the school curriculum if you could?
problematic, horrible, scary content in fiction: does it help us reach catharsis or does it corrupt us further?
follow up question: if we're naturally drawn to learning/reading about dark/problematic things, things that would scare anyone in real life, does that speak of our character? or is it just part of being human?
are classics considered classics just bc of literary value and their history? or do they offer something universal to the human experience
why are we drawn to villians?
can you separate your own morals from the morals of the fictional world you're reading about?
is there any way to actually, objectively judge a book? or are we doomed to our on subjective reading experiences?
how important is it for you... being able to relate to a book? can you enjoy reading about someone whose experiences, motivation and way of thinking you don't understand?
how well can you imagine the things you read in your head? does the book play out like a movie or do you just see vague images in your mind? do you even see any images at all?
