This is Top 5 in the Batshit Employers Pantheon.

We have to do a thread on this. And I need all my employment lawyer tweeps to read this article bc https://twitter.com/bobsmietana/status/1350180907823595520
First up, Christian personal finance guru Dave Ramsey claims to run a "godly company." So when an unmarried employee requested FMLA leave for the birth of her child, the company fired her.
The personal finance company has MANDATORY CHAPEL SERVICES EVERY WEEK.

After the news of the unmarried employee's lawsuit broke, Dave Ramsey said at that service the *company's* prohibition on employee premarital sex was necessary to prevent it from becoming a #MeToo cesspool.
This, about Ramsey's reaction to an OSHA complaint about the Company's COVID response (or complete lack thereof) almost made me fall out of my chair.
Then there's the fact that, if you want to get hired at Ramsey's company, they're going to "vet" your spouse, too.

I am losing my shit.
Although Ramsey had a brief WFH period, they've been in person since. Masks are viewed with suspicion-- as distrustful of leadership-- and people don't socially distanced. Nonemployee Heather Fulk commented about it on her private fb page. The company fired her husband.
Imagine having to submit a budget to your future employer to prove that you can live on the salary they offer before you can start your job.
Then there's the time that, when anonymous Twitter accounts made fun of company culture, Dave Ramsey brandished a gun at the office to discourage "gossip."

This guy doesn't give a fuck about OSHA or the FMLA, so I'm guessing he's not very interested in the NLRA either.
Here's the time a non-employee felt like she had to disclose allegations of her employee husband's adultery to the company bc he might get fired if it became public and she didn't disclose first.
"I've got a right to tell my employees whatever I want to tell them. They work for me."
So the company set up a "restoration plan" for the couple's marriage that included them waiving confidentiality with their therapists????

OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS IS SO ABUSIVE
The NON-EMPLOYEE wife says that when she disagreed with parts of the plan, she was barred from her husband's book tour and told that things would not "end well" if she made choices that the company's leadership disagreed with related to her marriage.
When they filed for divorce, Ramsey said (apparently falsely) at an all-staff meeting that the non-employee wife had shown up at her husband's office to make "angry and untrue allegations."

The story describes subsequent divorce filings detailing her husband's multiple affairs.
So hey, here's the tl;dr-- Dave Ramsey is an absolute abusive piece of shit, and that company is a monstrosity.
