#EileenDeservedBetter As a person who has a big chance of eventually becoming completely deaf due to multiple hearing disabilities and ear problems, that I already have. I would just like to say that before I saw Eileen on my screen, I was completely terrified of becoming deaf.
#EileenDeservedBetter I had no idea how I would go about if I would not be able to hear. As the media often portrays deaf people as sad and alone people. However Eileen and Shoshannah showed me that being deaf isn't that scary as you can still be happy and live your life.
#EileenDeservedBetter I'm still scared of the possibility that I might lose my hearing one day, but this character and this actress helped me understand that your life shouldn't revolve around your disability. It should revolve around you and being the best version of yourself
#EileenDeservedBetter So once again as a person with hearing disabilities myself, I'm saying this from the bottom of my heart. Eileen deserved better. Both as a character, a love intrest and important representation for disabled people in the community.
#EileenDeservedBetter I am by no means claiming that my experience and Shoshannah's or any other people with deafness or hearing disability is the same. I'm blessed with still being to hear quite a lot, however I feel like I should still tell my tale in order to support her.
#EileenDeservedBetter I am also by no means claiming Jared mistreated Shoshannah or whatever. I don't believe that he did and never will. I just disagree with him on the interview that he did.
#EileenDeservedBetter in conclusion. Eileen Leahy, badass deaf hunter with a heart of gold and a great sense or humour, deserved better!
